Henry Cejudo doubles down on his plans to retire if he loses to Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 298

Cole Shelton - February 14, 2024

Henry Cejudo is doubling down on his comments that he will retire from MMA again if he loses to Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 298. Cejudo ended his retirement last May when he took on Aljamain Sterling for the bantamweight title. It was his first fight in three years, and ‘Triple C’ ended up losing by split decision. After the loss, he called out Dvalishvili who he will fight on the main card of UFC 298 on Saturday.

Henry Cejudo reveals Eric Albarracin will still corner him at UFC 298: "We started this together, we’ll finish it together"

Cole Shelton - February 13, 2024

Henry Cejudo will have his longtime coach Eric Albarracin in his corner for his UFC 298 fight against Merab Dvalishvili after all. Cejudo revealed on UFC Countdown that he was parting ways with his longtime coach ahead of his do-or-die fight against Dvalishvili at UFC 298.

Alexander Volkanovski calls Henry Cejudo a "piece of s**t" for removing his coach on UFC Countdown

Cole Shelton - February 13, 2024

UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski is not a fan of Henry Cejudo removing his coach Eric Albarracin from his corner on UFC Countdown. Cejudo has been with Albarracin before his UFC career but before ‘Triple C’s’ return fight against Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 298, the former flyweight and bantamweight champion removed his longtime coach from his corner.

It seems that Eric Albarracin is in Merab Dvalishvili’s corner ahead of his UFC 298 bout against Henry Cejudo. Earlier this week, ‘Triple C’ formally parted ways with his longtime coach. For the entirety of Henry Cejudo’s UFC career, he has been at the hip of Eric Albarracin. The former wrestler coached the bantamweight to multiple title wins, but their time together will be no more.

Fernando Quiles - February 12, 2024

Henry Cejudo will not be having Eric Albarracin in his corner for his upcoming fight with Merab Dvalishvili. Cejudo is taking his bout with Merab quite seriously, to the point where he’s even said he’d likely retire if he can’t beat the Georgian fighter. “Triple C” returned to the sport of MMA last year and was met with disappointment when he was bested by then-UFC bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling via split decision. That loss was enough for Cejudo to make one significant change to his training camp.

The winner could very well be in line to fight the winner of O’Malley vs. Vera 2, which goes down the following month at UFC 299.

Henry Cejudo teases return to retirement with UFC 298 loss: "This sport is hard, man"

Josh Evanoff - January 30, 2024

Former UFC dual-weight champion Henry Cejudo might not be back for long. ‘Triple C’ has been out of the octagon since a title fight with Aljamain Sterling at UFC 288 last May. The bout ended a three-year-long hiatus for Henry Cejudo. He famously announced his retirement after a knockout win over Dominick Cruz in May 2020. However, he couldn’t keep away from the cage forever.

Harry Kettle - January 9, 2024

Henry Cejudo has questioned Sean Strickland and Alexander Volkanovski for opening up on their mental health issues. It’s been, to put it lightly, a chaotic few months for Sean Strickland. From winning the UFC middleweight championship to getting in brawls at events, he’s as much of a wildcard as he’s ever been. Now, fans have seen another side of him after he got visibly emotional talking about his childhood trauma during an interview with Theo Von.

Henry Cejudo shares some advice for UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland

Harry Kettle - January 4, 2024

UFC star Henry Cejudo has given UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland some advice. While he may be the king of the middleweight division, Sean Strickland hasn’t had everything go his way as of late. In fact, he’s had to face some real difficulties outside of the cage. The reason for that is because of some remarks made by Dricus du Plessis that appeared to get under his skin, prompting a brawl between the two men at UFC 296.

Henry Cejudo believes Islam Makhachev would “expose” Leon Edwards in potential UFC super fight

He did so by defeating Colby Covington, establishing himself as the best 170-pounder on the planet right now. In terms of what’s next, a lot of names have been thrown around, including Belal Muhammad and Shavkat Rakhmonov.

Henry Cejudo slams Daniel Cormier for comparing his Olympic Gold medal against Tom Aspinall's interim heavyweight title: "Interim belts mean nothing"

Chris Taylor - November 18, 2023

Henry Cejudo was not happy that Daniel Cormier came to the defense of Tom Aspinall following his recent criticism. It was just last Saturday, November 11th, at UFC 295, where Tom Aspinall (14-3 MMA) knocked out Sergei Pavlovich in the very first round to claim the promotion’s interim heavyweight title (see that here).

Tom Aspinall laughs off Henry Cejudo's comments about interim title win: "If he spoke I probably wouldn't hear him"

Josh Evanoff - November 17, 2023

UFC heavyweight interim champion Tom Aspinall is unbothered by Henry Cejudo’s recent rant. Earlier this month at UFC 295, the British fighter returned to face Sergei Pavlovich. Tom Aspinall stepped in on very short notice, due to the cancelation of Jon Jones vs. Stipe Miocic. In round 1, he floored the Russian to score a first-round TKO victory to earn the gold in stunning fashion.
